Nominations can now be made for the upcoming THSOA elections. We are looking for nominations to fill the following offices for a two-year term:
    • President
    • Treasurer
Both the person making the nomination and the nominee must be current members of THSOA. The Nominating Committee will contact each nominee to verify they accept the nomination.

Nominations will be accepted through 15 July 2015. We will then allow nominees to draft a statement that will be placed on the THSOA web site between 15 July and 15 August. If there is more than one nomination for any position, an on-line election will conducted for those positions from 15 August thru 15 September. If there is only one nominee for a position, they will be elected without a vote.

I hope that all of you will consider stepping forward and helping the Society move forward.

    Best regards,

    Paul Cooper
    President THSOA

World Dredging Congresses (WODCONs) are organized once every three years by WODA, the World Organization of Dredging Associations. First organized in 1967 in New York and held throughout the world since, this series of congresses has become the most important event for dredging professionals worldwide. WODCONs, the only worldwide events dedicated exclusively to dredging and maritime construction, provide a unique platform for researchers and practitioners from industry, academia and governments to meet and discuss dredging.

WODCON XXI will showcase some 120 technical papers over three days covering all aspects of dredging and maritime construction. All WODCON XXI papers will be peer reviewed and provide up to date, relevant and high quality information. The congress will also feature a technical exhibition and technical visits. These technical program elements will ensure a complete learning process, while various social events will allow participants to meet fellow professionals from all over the world in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere.

WODCON XXI will bring together expert representatives of manufacturers, universities, research institutes, consultants, public authorities and contractors working in the dredging, navigation, coastal and inland flood protection, deep-sea mining, offshore wind energy, oil and gas production fields and providers of a broad range of services such as brokers, insurers, financiers, lawyers, and many more.

Interested authors are invited to submit one page abstracts (less than 400 words). The abstracts must contain a descriptive title, author(s) contact information (name, company, address, phone, email). Deadline for abstracts is September 15, 2015. Abstracts are to be emailed to the chair of the respective regions (CEDA, EADA, & WEDA). The Technical Papers Committee will review all abstracts and notify authors of acceptance and provide final manuscript instructions for production of the WODCON proceedings on CD’s. Submission and acceptance of an abstract means that one or more of the authors must register, attend the WODCON XXI, and give the presentation in English. One full registration with payment must be made when the draft manuscript is submitted.

Abstracts presenting both practical applications as well as applied research are encouraged. Topics may include but are not limited to:

    • Improving Dredge Safety
