The NSPS/THSOA Hydrographer Certification Board is responsible for certifying hydrographers in the United States. The Board occasionally has openings and is seeking certified hydrographers willing to volunteer to sit on the Board. Board terms are for 5 years with the ability to extend for additional years. Primary responsibilities are to review applications for certification, proctor certification exams, participate in yearly meetings, to promote the certification process, and to work with other board members in additional tasks undertaken by the board.
If interested, please send your resume or questions to Gary R. Davis at firstname.lastname@example.org, NSPS/THSOA Hydrographer Certification Board Chair.
The Hydrographic Society of America (THSOA) encourages college/university students to consider a career in hydrographic surveying. THSOA and its chapters provide several student scholarships in order to assist students with academic costs. At least five scholarships are awarded each year.
