Prior to the upcoming THSOA Midwest Chapter meeting December 5, 2016 in Traverse City, MI, Seafloor Systems will be demonstrating their new improved Generation-2 HyDrone and EchoBoat ASV’s (Autonomous Surface Vehicles). These groundbreaking vehicles present the ability for the hydrographer and surveyor alike to quickly and seamlessly collect hydrographic survey data in hazard zones or difficult to access shallow water areas.
Installed on the vehicles will be the Hydrolite-TM singlebeam echosounder and Hydrolite-DFX dual-frequency survey system. Both systems are compatible with Hypack software as well as data collectors from Trimble, Leica, Topcon, and Carlson. The HyDrone vehicle is a 1.2m catamaran designed specifically to carry the HydroliteTM portable survey system.
vehicles are remote controlled, or fully autonomous, and have an
endurance of 8 hours enabling the surveyor to complete a full day’s work
on a single charge.
Location: on the docks outside the Hagerty Center, NW Michigan College.
