NSPS/THSOA Hydrographer Certification Board is the designated authority of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and The Hydrographic Society of America (THSOA) that sets the policy regarding certification and administers the certification process.
The Board consists of 8 to 12 members from across the United States and meets at least once a year. Its membership includes representatives from the US. Army Corps of Engineers, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Naval Oceanographic Office, and private industry. Members serve for a five year term and must have a high degree of technical knowledge and experience in hydrographic surveying, be willing to serve on a voluntary basis, and willing to attend meetings and serve on sub-committees.
The HCB expects to have several openings over the next several years and if you are interested in serving on the board please submit by January 31, 2019, a brief resume of your hydrographic survey experience along with a paragraph on why you would like to become a board member.
