Dear THSOA Members,
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, our hearts go out to the Texas community currently dealing with this catastrophic event.
We have been following along with the news of citizens and members of the first responder teams of Houston, Rockport, Corpus and the surrounding areas as they work to support each other during this terrible time. We hope all our THSOA members, both domestically and internationally, will join with us in sharing our best wishes and prayers to our fellow members who have been impacted by this disaster.
We would also like to encourage all THSOA members to help the Houston section and other Houstonians affected by Hurricane Harvey in any way you can.
Volunteer Your Time
If you're able to get to Southeast Texas in the coming days, consider volunteering your time to help those in Houston, Rockport, Corpus and other communities whose lives have been devastated by Harvey:
Donating Money or Food
If you can't make it to do volunteer work, consider donating money or food:
- American Red Cross — to donate, visit redcross.org
- The Salvation Army — to donate, visit give.salvationarmy.org
- The Greater Houston Community fund — to donate, visit GHC
- Houston Food Bank— to donate, visit here
- Corpus Christi Food Bank— to donate, visit here
Help Displaced Pets
The SPCA of Texas is accepting monetary donations so that it can help pets lost in the havoc that Hurricane Harvey wrought.
To our friends in the Houston Chapter region, please stay safe and know that we, fellow THSOA colleagues, board and staff, are thinking of you.
