RMZ Marine - Hydrographic Surveyor - California

This position supports the dredging and construction projects by leading the acquisition/processing of data in marine environments. Responsible for performing hydrographic surveys, and instrumentation positioning. Processing, interpretation, and display of results information.


Essential Requirement Tasks and Functions

  • A minimum of three years of experience running single and multi-beam hydrographic surveys
  • Set up of hydrographic survey equipment and proficiency operating small survey vessels
  • Data collection. - Pre and post dredge surveys data processing and volume calculations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD to present survey results, interpretation of plans, and presentation within the management team and the client
  • Experience with Dredge Pack software setup, display interpretation, and supporting dredging crew
  • US citizenship or current work permit
  • Availability to start on short notice
  • Proficiency in operating small motorboat safety
  • Maintain logs of daily activities, and prepares field notes, and drawings
  • Takes measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • ROV experience desired but not required


Work Environment / Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outdoor weather conditions on a vessel

Occasional regional travel will be required
